Step into the world of SoulFried—a sizzling, crispy blend of funk, jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, and more. This Copenhagen-based band serves up grooves that are rich, bold, and irresistibly addictive.
SoulFried’s journey began in 2020 with founding members Mark Bradley (guitar) and Pete Kenny (bass), two British musicians brought together by their shared love of funky music. Influenced by legends like James Brown, Snarky Puppy, Fearless Flyers, and The Meters, the duo quickly found their rhythm and began crafting original instrumental tracks.
As the sound evolved, so did the lineup. The band welcomed an exceptional group of musicians who brought their own flavors to the mix: Péter Horváth (drums), Bertram Kvist Lynggaard (tenor sax), Carl Zinssou (keys), Ábel Nyerges (trumpet), and Johannes Otto Bolding Kruse (tenor sax). Together, they created a dynamic, genre-blurring sound that’s impossible to resist.
SoulFried made their electrifying live debut at the 2021 Copenhagen Jazz Festival. 2024 saw the release of the band’s debut album, Chonk Lé Fonk. The album features guest artists Mads Haupt Clausen (trombone), Apolinaras Dubauskas (trumpet), and Philip Munksgaard Meedson (percussion). Since then, the band has performed multiple times to sold-out audiences, cementing their reputation as a must-see live act.
Looking ahead, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for SoulFried, giving music lovers plenty of opportunities to experience their energy live. At the same time, the band is releasing their eagerly awaited second album 'Pocket Science' Set to drop in the autumn 2025.
